About Us
At Open Road Tutoring and Advocacy LLC, we believe that every child can succeed, when given the opportunity and the right supports.
We proudly work with children and teens of all abilities.
The world of special education is constantly evolving, which is why we keep up-to-date with educational research, regulations, and the science of learning.
We aim to make learning easier for students with learning differences by creating individualized learning plans that play to their strengths, while targeting areas for growth.
Through our advocacy work, we guide and empower parents to make informed decisions regarding their child’s education and advocate on their behalf for the supports and services critical to their child’s success.
We offer in-person tutoring services in Wappingers Falls and Rhinebeck, NY. Online tutoring is available throughout the U.S.
Advocacy services are available throughout New York and Connecticut.
About the Owner, Paige Fitzgerald
Paige has been a public school teacher in NYC’s District 75, as well as a contracted private teacher for families. She believes in taking a holistic approach to teaching and incorporates that belief into the services offered at Open Road.
Prior to her teaching career, Paige worked in a residential treatment center for children with severe behavioral challenges and emotional disabilities. It was in that setting that her desire to work in the field of special education came about.
She has a dual M. Ed in Elementary and Special Education, is trained in the Orton Gillingham approach, is a SEAT 1.0 level Advocate (currently training for level 2.0), and is a certified facilitator of the Brick-by-Brick Program.
In her free time, she loves going out to dinner with her husband and kids (preferably somewhere with outdoor seating), reading a good book, and trying (with mixed success) to bake for her family and friends.
