PEERS for Adolescents is a 16-week evidence-based social skills intervention for motivated teens, ages 13-18.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

Who is it for?

PEERS® is for teens (13-18) who struggle to make and maintain friendships, and are motivated to learn how to do so.

It may be a good fit for teens who…

  • have social or behavioral challenges

  • have an autism diagnosis

  • have ADHD

  • have a social pragmatic communication disorder

What topics will be covered?

Teens in this program will be taught and practice skills such as…

  • how to talk with peers on a variety of topics

  • how to appropriately communicate via electronics

  • how to solve social conflicts and disagreements

  • how to handle bullying

  • how to initiate and host get-togethers with friends

What else should I know?

  • This program requires that enrolled teens be motivated to participate in the program AND requires parent participation in the form of weekly virtual sessions to go over what your teen will be practicing that week.

  • WHERE: River Valley Arts Center, Wappingers Falls, NY

  • WHEN: Tuesdays from 5:30 PM- 6:30 PM, September 3rd - December 17th.

  • Price: $1,500 (payment options available)

  • Registration: A 30-minute registration interview will be conducted prior to a teen’s acceptance into the program. Upon acceptance, a deposit of $200 is required to secure your child’s spot.

  • A minimum of 7 participants is required for this program, with a cap of 10 participants.
